Nino Tandilashvili Re-elected for a Second Term as Vice-President of the Eighth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-8), Representing Eastern European States
First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, has been unanimously re-elected for a second term as Vice-President of the Eighth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-8), representing the Eastern European States. The decision was made within the framework of the ongoing Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in Kenya."I am deeply honored to be re-elected for a second term to represent Georgia on the United Nations’ highest forum dedicated to defining the global environmental agenda. As Vice-President, I will do my utmost, on behalf of my country and region, to ensure that our priorities in environmental protection and sustainable ecosystem management are heard at the highest UN level," stated First Deputy Minister, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili.
At the Seventh Session of UNEA in Nairobi, Kenya, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili exercised her role as Vice-President by presiding over the Assembly’s plenary sessions.
Mrs. Tandilashvili also participated in several panel discussions and actively engaged in the work of the Assembly’s committees.
