Demarcation Work Underway for Racha National Park Boundaries

First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, discussed the ongoing demarcation of Racha National Park boundaries with the authorities of Oni Municipality.

"Defining protected area boundaries is crucial. While nature conservation is the main goal, it is also important to consider the needs and interests of the local population," stated the First Deputy Minister.

The demarcation process will set precise park boundaries and identify unregistered land plots, privately owned properties, and atypical infrastructure within the proposed limits.

It is worth noting that boundary demarcation is conducted following the establishment of any new protected area or the expansion of an existing one.
Racha National Park, one of Georgia's newly established protected areas, is located in the Oni Municipality and spans 50,835 hectares.
