David Songulashvili Visits “Meskheti Poultry” Company in Akhaltsikhe Municipality.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. David Songulashvili, visited the village of Klde in Akhaltsikhe Municipality to learn about the activities of the company “Meskheti Poultry.”



LTD “Meskheti Poultry” is a beneficiary of the Agricultural Development Agency. The company benefits from the “Preferential Agrocredit” program, with an agricultural loan amounting to approximately GEL 500,000. The poultry farm houses 50,000 chickens and produces 40,000 eggs daily. Its products are sold in the local market. The farm employs 30 local residents.



Under the “Preferential Agrocredit” program, aiming at establishing  and developing poultry farms, banks across Georgia have issued 2,779 loans worth over GEL 278.1 million. Co-financing from the Agricultural Development Agency exceeds GEL 67.2 million. In the Samtskhe-Javakheti region alone, banks have provided 133 loans worth GEL 8.8 million, with co-financing from the Agency exceeding GEL 1.8 million.

The Deputy Minister, Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, the State Representative of Samtskhe-Javakheti Region, Mr. Zaal Gelashvili, Chairman of Akhaltsikhe Municipal Assembly, Mr. David Lomidze, and Acting Director of the Agricultural Development Agency, Mr. Giorgi Avaliani, accompanied the Minister during the visit to LTD “Meskheti Poultry.”
