David Songulashvili Reviews Working Conditions of Forestry Service Employees in the Shida Kartli Region

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. David Songulashvili, along with the State Representative in Shida Kartli, Mr. Simon Guledani, met with employees of the regional forestry service to review their working conditions.

The Shida Kartli Forestry Service currently employs 86 staff members, including 10 foresters and 39 forest rangers. Local residents can access all services provided by the National Forestry Agency at the newly renovated facility. These services include the provision of firewood, as well as information on the use of non-timber forest resources and auction-related procedures.

During the meeting, the parties emphasised that strengthening the institutional capacity of regional forestry services is a key factor in the effective implementation of sustainable forest management policies.

“It is essential to respond promptly to existing needs, create proper working conditions, and develop social protection mechanisms for our employees. This builds the foundation for increased motivation and improved results,” stated Mr. David Songulashvili.

The Deputy Minister Mr. Kakha Kakabadze, Members of Parliament, as well as representatives of the Ministry’s subordinate agencies and local self-government, accompanied the Minister.
