Nino Tandilashvili and Genadi Arveladze Meet with Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harris Theoharis

Mrs. Nino Tandilashvili, First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, along with Mr. Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Mr. Harris Theoharis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of economic cooperation between Georgia and Greece, focusing on increasing bilateral trade and encouraging investment in the green energy sector. Mrs. Tandilashvili highlighted Georgia’s green energy potential and the growing interest from the Greek side in this direction.

 

Special attention was given to the Black Sea underwater cable project, which aims to connect the energy systems of Georgia and the European Union. It was noted that the next session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Technological Cooperation will be held later this year, where both countries will further explore key areas of economic partnership.

 

The meeting took place in Athens, where the Georgian delegation is participating in an event marking the 20th anniversary of the Energy Community.
