David Songulashvili: “The partnership between Georgia and FAO has been successfully ongoing for years, encompassing numerous significant projects.”
The main theme of the 44th Conference of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), held in Rome, was the current state of agri-food systems and the prospects for international cooperation.
High-ranking Officials from all 194 FAO member countries, including 50 Ministers from various countries, attended the conference.
“I am pleased that we participated in such an important forum, where we discussed global visions and strategic directions for the development of agri-food systems. As a partner country, Georgia is ready to continue active cooperation with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and its member states,” stated Mr. Songulashvili.
The Minister highlighted the enduring partnership between Georgia and FAO, which has led to the successful implementation of numerous projects. Through collaborative efforts, substantial progress has been achieved in key areas, including food safety, climate-smart agriculture, and the advancement of inclusive development.
“In the process of transforming agri-food systems, our priority is knowledge-based development, the adoption of modern technologies, and the sharing of the best international practices,” the Minister stated.
