David Songulashvili Meets with Tadaharu Uehara, President of the Japan-Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr. David Songulashvili, hosted Mr. Tadaharu Uehara, President of the Japan-Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JGCCI).
During the meeting, the parties discussed avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on enhancing Georgian wine exports to the Japanese market.
“It is always a pleasure to meet with a long-standing, good friend of our country. I would like to thank you for your efforts in raising awareness of Georgia in Japan during your time as Ambassador. We deeply value your continued support, and I am confident that our partnership will remain mutually beneficial and productive,” stated the Minister.
The JGCCI plays a vital role in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Japan and Georgia, focusing on investment promotion, knowledge exchange, and improved market access for businesses from both countries.
Mr. Uehara expressed his enduring affection for Georgia.
“I have many fond memories of Georgia—of genuine friendship and warm relations. I hope that the Japan-Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry will serve as a bridge that fosters closer economic relations between our countries,” noted Mr. Uehara.
Mr. Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency, along with senior officials from the Ministry, attended the meeting.
